In October of 2023, we sent out a survey to our members. As a tool library, we see many of our members during our open hours, at workshops, and around town. As the quiet of winter approached, we sought to find a way to connect with members, seeking feedback and suggestions, in the slower times of the year. We have had the incredible opportunity to pour over these survey results, and dream up ways to continue to meet the needs of the MUD community and beyond! Our Board of Directors compiled the results from the survey, and we want to share those with you!

Though it is not too much of a surprise, we found out that 76% of respondents are members because of the MUD tool library. What about those other 24% you might ask! Well…our workshops have also been a hit! Over a quarter of those responding have attended a workshop with MUD before.

Speaking of workshops, you had some ideas that we are really excited about!

  • Kid-friendly workshops.
  • More frequent workshops.
  • Advanced options. Think Carpentry 201!
  • Extended workshops. Maybe a workshop would meet for multiple sessions and build off skills and continue to develop community!
  • An indoor space to host workshops.

Over 60% of survey respondents said they would like to see the tool library open another day of the week. Wowie do we have news for you! MUD Tool Library will now be open an additional day. Starting on March 7th, MUD will be open on Thursdays from 4-7pm. We hope to see you there!

One of our members shared, “You are all amazing and are providing such a valuable resource. I tell people about MUD any chance I get. Not enough people know about the organization”. Did you know that three quarters of members heard about MUD through word of mouth? We are working to find new ways to engage potential members and communicate about MUD. In addition to this, we are so thankful for all of the awesome people who share about us. Keep spreading the good MUD news!
