The Missoula Urban Demonstration Project (MUD) promotes urban sustainability through resource sharing, hands-on-learning, and community engagement. For 35 years, MUD has been dedicated to developing programs that help low and moderate-income individuals and households find economically and environmentally sustainable solutions to maintain their homes and enhance their skills in self-sufficiency.
As part of this mission, MUD established the Missoula Tool Library in 1997. MUD’s Tool Library is the only tool-lending library in the state and one of just 20-30 in the nation. In 2007, MUD launched the Missoula Truck Share, the sole car-share program in Montana, which received the Missoula in Motion Transportation Best Practices Award that year. Since it began, the Missoula Tool Library has come to serve over 700 members with over 2,000 tools.
Our Tool Library is open Friday – Monday, with our longest and busiest shifts on Saturdays and Sundays from 10-4pm. We are looking for an individual who would like to join with our three other Tool Librarians in making the tool library welcoming, efficient, and organized. Applicants with skills in tool maintenance and repair are encouraged to apply.
Please submit your letter of application, resume, and two references to email@example.com. Position is open until filled.
MTCC AmeriCorps VISTA – Position is open until filled with final application deadline of June 18.
The MUD Project MTCC AmeriCorps VISTA is a full-time year-long service position. The service year begins 07/23/2018 and goes until 07/22/2019.
Serve with the Missoula Urban Demonstration Project in developing marketing and fundraising strategies to support long-term youth programming and partnerships with other organizations focused on youth development. The VISTA will develop educational outreach materials about MUD programs to reach a wider audience of youth in Missoula Community, and assist with the development of an annual cycle of youth education offerings at the MUD Project. MUD connects neighbors to alleviate poverty through community building. Apply to serve with the Missoula Urban Demonstration Project at the Montana Campus Compact site here.
