The Language of Flowers: Valentine’s Floral Design Workshop

February 9 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Daffodils signal new beginnings, juniper protection. Lilacs mean the first emotions of love, while lavender represents serenity. Early Victorians used flowers as a way to express their feelings—love or grief, jealousy or devotion. However, this delicate form of communication has been lost in our fast-paced, modern-day society.

Join Melissa Lafontaine, owner of Earth Within Flowers, for a festive pre-Valentine’s Day workshop to rediscover the meaning of flowers while creating a custom dried arrangement for yourself or a loved one. We’ll provide beautiful stationary at your disposal to transcribe your message.

Earth Within Flowers offers the community an earth-friendly alternative to flower sourcing. Melissa procures flowers from local and regional farmers and ethically forages foliage from the natural environment. She is trained as an herbalist and ethnobotanist and shares the sentimental and healing nature of flowers through her designs. View her creations online here.

*Early Bird Registration until Feb. 3rd will receive $5 off registration. ($35 non-members and $15 MUD members)
