February 24 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
The ancient art of the blacksmith has changed very little for thousands of years and is still used by farriers today. Join MUD instructor Mark Vander Meer of Watershed Consulting and Bad Goat Forest Products for this fun, informative and hands-on workshop. Mark will show you the basics of lighting the forge, heating your irons, and shaping molten metal. As Jonathan, one of our MUD Tool Librarian’s, pointed out, blacksmithing is fundamental to tool use. If you need a tool to do something, perhaps you’d want to make that tool yourself! Here’s a workshop to show you a few basics.
This is one of our most popular workshops and we like to keep class sizes small so we are offering two sessions, an AM session from 9am-Noon and a PM session from 1pm-4pm. Cost of the workshop is $15 for MUD Members and $30 for non-members. Space is limited so reserve yours today by prepaying online. Click the “Pay Now!” button below to be taken to MUD’s Square marketplace. Make sure to select appropriately the AM or PM session from the payment options. Hope you can join us!
